Kuber Science Co., Ltd. Privacy Policy

Kuber Science Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Kuber Science) legally processes and manages personal information in compliance with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws in Korea to protect the freedom and rights of data subjects. Accordingly, in order to guide the data subject to the procedures and standards for processing personal information in accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act, and to facilitate the processing of related grievances quickly and smoothly, we will disclose the personal information processing policy as follows.

Purpose of processing personal information

Kuber Science processes personal information for the following purposes.
The personal information being processed will not be used for any purpose other than the following purposes, and if the purpose of use is changed, necessary measures such as obtaining separate consent pursuant to Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act will be implemented.

Confirmation of membership and management membership intention, identification and certification according to the provision of membership services, maintenance and management of membership, prevention of illegal use of services, confirmation of the consent of legal representatives when processing personal information, various notices and notices, and process personal information for grievance purposes.
Personal information is processed by providing goods or services, delivering goods, providing services, sending contracts and invoices, providing content, providing customized services, personal authentication, fee settlement, and debt collection.

Processing and Retention Periods for Personal Information

Kuber Science processes and retains personal information for the period prescribed by applicable laws and regulations or for the period agreed to by the data subject at the time the personal information is collected.
The specific processing and retention periods for personal information are as follows:
1) Website Membership Registration and Management Until the member withdraws from the website.
However, in any of the following cases, the information shall be retained until the relevant matter has been resolved:
• If an investigation or inquiry concerning a violation of applicable laws or regulations is ongoing: until the investigation or inquiry has been completed.
• If a creditor-debtor relationship arising from the use of the website remains outstanding: until the relationship has been fully settled.
2) Provision of Goods or Services
Until the provision of the goods or services has been completed and all related payments and fees have been settled.
However, in any of the following cases, the information shall be retained for the applicable statutory period:

a. Records relating to transactions, including labeling and advertising, contracts, and contractual performance, pursuant to the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc.
• Records of labeling and advertising: 6 months
• Records of contracts or withdrawal of offers, payments, and the supply of goods or services: 5 years
• Records of consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years
b. Communications confirmation data retained pursuant to the Protection of Communications Secrets Act
• Dates and times of telecommunications, commencement and termination times, the other party’s subscriber number, frequency of use, and basestation location-tracking data: 1 year
• Computer communications and Internet log records, and access-point location-tracking data: 3 months

Personal Information Items to Process

Kuber Science is processing the following privacy items.

Membership and management
• Required items: Name, country, email address,
• Selections: Occupation, group (company) information

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Kuber Science processes personal information only within the scope necessary to fulfil the specified purposes of processing. Personal information is provided to third parties only where permitted under Articles 17 and 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act, such as when the data subject has given consent or when otherwise permitted by applicable laws and regulations. Kuber Science does not otherwise provide personal information to third parties.
In emergencies involving disasters, infectious diseases, incidents or accidents that pose an imminent threat to life or physical safety, or a substantial risk of property loss, Kuber Science may provide personal information to relevant organizations without the data subject’s consent, as permitted by applicable laws and regulations.
In such cases, Kuber Science will provide only the minimum personal information necessary under the applicable legal provisions and will not use or provide the information for purposes other than those for which it was provided.
※ Personal Location Information Business Operator: A business operator licensed under the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information to collect personal location information and provide it to a location-based service provider.
※ Telecommunications Business Operator: A business operator that is registered or has filed a report under the Telecommunications Business Act, including an operator exempt from reporting requirements, and provides telecommunications services.
※ Identity Verification Agency: An agency designated under Article 23-3 of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
※ Provider of Alternative Means of Membership Registration: A provider of an alternative membership registration method that does not require the use of a resident registration number, as prescribed under Article 24-2 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
※ Information and Communications Service Provider: A telecommunications business operator defined in subparagraph 8 of Article 2 of the Telecommunications Business Act, or a person who uses the telecommunications services of such an operator to provide information or facilitate the provision of information for commercial purposes.

The destruction of personal information

Kuber Science destroys the personal information without delay when it becomes unnecessary, such as the expiration of the personal information retention period and the achievement of the processing purpose.
If the retention period of personal information agreed by the data subject has elapsed or the purpose of processing has been achieved, it is necessary to continue to preserve personal information according to other laws and regulations, transfer the personal information to a separate database (DB) or store it differently.
The procedures and methods of destroying personal information are as follows.
1. Reversal procedure
Kuber Science selects the personal information that caused the reason for destruction and destroys the personal information with the approval of Kuber Science’s personal information protection officer.
2. How to destroy
Kuber Science destroys personal information recorded and stored in the form of electronic files so that records cannot be reproduced, and destroys personal information recorded and stored in paper documents by crushing or incineration with a shredder.

Measures concerning the destruction of personal information of non-users (in cases of destruction)

Kuber Science is destroying the information of users who have not used the service for a year. However, it can be stored and managed separately from other users’ personal information until the preservation period specified by other laws and regulations has elapsed.
Kuber Science informs users of the fact that personal information is destroyed 30 days before the destruction of personal information, the expiration date of the period, and the items of the destroyed personal information in a way that can be notified by e-mail or text message.
